Now the citizens of Bangladesh have their own national Identity card. Bangladesh Government has started ti issue Bio-metric Identification Card since 2008. All Bangladeshi who are 18 years or above, the information of them will be included in the central bio-metric database. This database is maintained and controlled by the Election Commission of Bangladesh. Any Bangladeshi citizen who are 18 years or above can collect his National ID Card from Election Commission. This National ID Card is mainly used to get passport, driving license, Bank account, Credit card, land ownership registration etc.
The National Identity Card of Bangladesh contains some unique feature which makes it different from any other ID Card. The Most important feature of this ID Card is its National ID numbers. Every National ID Card has 17 unique digits National ID number (earlier it was 13 digit). This National Identity Number is completely different from person to person.
