Enabling or Disabling Windows System Protection

System protection is one of the exceptional feature of windows. This feature regularly create and save information about a PC system file and settings regularly. We often modify files and document saved in our PC. System protection features saves previous version of the modified files and documents also.

You can restore your modified files because System protection save files in restore points, This restore points are created before the significant system event, like program or device drive installation. Restore points are created once in every seven days automatically if no other points were created in the last seven days. Beside that you can also create restore point manually at any time.

Though the name is System protection, but it is not related to any kind of protection against virus. It just ensure the protection of your files from being lost because of modification. System protection is automatically on for Windows Installation drive. This can only be turned on for the drive that is formatted by NTFS files system.

Advantages of System Protection:
  • If your Computer is not working properly or it is running slowly then you can use the System restore to return previous point of your Computer's system files and settings.
  • If you accidentally delete or modify a file or folder then you can restore the previous version of the file that is saved as the part of the restore point.

Enabling Windows System Protection:
  1. Click Right Mouse button on My Computer and Choose Properties.
  2. Then click System Protection from the left panel.
  3. Then Select a Drive from the available drives.
  4. Then click Configure button.
  5. Then Select Turn on System Protection button and Then click OK.

Follow the same process to enable System protection on other available drive.

Disabling Windows System Protection:
  1. Follow the Above Steps tills 4.
  2. And Select Disable System Protection button and Then click OK.
