If your are operating your PC with Windows operating system then you will easily be able to use your PC's keyboard as mouse. Because in Windows PC there is an option to apply such command. And you can apply this trick from the Ease of Access center on your PC. The procedure that I'm showing in this post will be applied in windows XP to 8.1. Let's see how to do the trick...
Applies To:
- Windows XP, 7, 8 and 8.1
For Windows XP:
- First go to your PC's Control Panel.
- Then from the Control Panel select Classic View.
- Now click Accessibility Options and the Accessibility Options window will open.
- Here in this window click on Click Mouse Tab.
- Then mark on Use Mouse Keys check box.
- Finally click on Apply and then OK.
For Window 7 and Windows 8:
- First go to Control Panel and click on Ease of Access.
- Then scroll down and click on Make the mouse easier to use.
- Then here under Control the mouse with the keyboard, select the Turn on Mouse Keys check box.
- Finally click on Apply and then OK.
By going through the above steps the Mouse Keys will be turned on. And you can use the numeric keyboard to move the mouse. Now use the following keys to use your PC's keyboard as mouse.
To move the mouse pointer
- Up and to the left - Press 7
- Up - Press 8
- Up and to the right - Press 9
- Left - Press 4
- Right - Press 6
- Down to Left - Press 1
- Down - Press 2
- Down to Right - 3
Selecting a Mouse Button: Before you use Mouse Keys to click items on your screen, you must first select which mouse button you want to be the active button: the left button, the right one, or both.
- Select the left mouse button - Press The forward slash (/)
- Select both buttons - The asterisk (*)
- Select the right mouse button - The minus sign (-)
Note: If you choose to make the left mouse button the active button, it will remain the active button until you choose another button. After you select a mouse button, you don't need to select a mouse button again until you want to change buttons.
Keys to click an Item:
- Click an item - With the left button selected as your active button, point to the item, and then press 5
- Right-click an item - With the right button selected as your active button, point to the item, and then press 5
- Double-click an item - With the left button selected as your active button, point to the item, and press the plus sign (+)
Keys to Drag an Item:
- Drag an item - Point to the item, and then press zero (0)
- Drop the item - Point to the location where you want to move the item, and then press the decimal point (.)
Note: You can also turn on Mouse Keys by pressing Left Alt+Left Shift+Num Lock. To change options like how quickly the mouse pointer moves and whether your computer makes a sound when you turn on Mouse Keys, in the Ease of Access Center, under Control the mouse with the keyboard, click Set up Mouse Keys.
