How to Protect USB Drive from Autorun Virus!

Computer virus is al the main problem for the computer users that is why we always find the way to defend it. Maximum time virus catch the computer at the time of exchanging data from removable drive (pen drive, memory card) . It is not possible to eradicate the virus. However, some strategies can be found in the partial crossing. 

After entering the pen drive or any  instrument like pen drive to the computer a small signal virus named Autorun.inf spread throughout the hard drive. So pen drive insert into your computer, double-click on it and open it to become active viruses quickly and result in any danger. You will have to disable autorun so that it does not spread automatically.

Protecting USB Drive from Autorun:
  • At first open Run option (Press Windows key+R)
  • Then type gpedit.msc and press Enter.
  • Now go to Computer Configuration> Administrative Templates> Windows Components> AutoPlay Policy.
  • Then double click Turn off Autoplay and select Enabled.
  • Now from Turn off Autoplay select All drives and press OK.
  • From Default behavior for Autorun select Do not commands and press OK.
  • Again type services.msc in Run and press Enter then open Shell Hardware Detection from there.
  • Select Disable from Startup type and click Stop at the button.
  • Wait a moment then click Apply when the Service status will be Stopped.

    Now the pen drive will not be automatically Auto-played.

  • Then again open Notepad and type attrib -h -r -s *.* and save with the name of UnHide.bat and keep it in your pen drive.
  • If you double click the UnHide.bat it will show the hided file if it exists.
  • Type the drive letter (such as M :) in any Internet browser's address bar and press enter it will show all files of your pen drive, and you can take file from here.
